What is the difference between “Show Phrase when” and “Show paragraph when”?
The difference between “Show Phrase when” and “Show Paragraph when” is the line spacing around the conditional text when that text is not shown. “Show Phrase when” removes only the text inside of the condition. “Show Paragraph when” removes the entire paragraph (or multiple paragraphs or page(s)) and the lines they were on, and any numbering will renumber.
When should I use “Show Phrase when”?
When you want to conditionally show a few words, a short phrase, or a sentence.
When should I use “Show Paragraph when”?
When you want to conditionally show or remove an entire paragraph, an item in a bulleted list or outline, or an entire page.
What does the different line spacing look like in a document?
Here is an example of how phrase vs paragraph conditions affect the spacing of a document when they are used to remove a paragraph of text. First, consider this original. We are going to remove the blue text about apples.
