Exec: Workspaces & Sharing

Workspaces in Gavel Exec make it easy for you to share Playbooks and Projects with your team or with clients, while still giving you control over permissions.

What Are Workspaces?

A workspace is the environment inside Gavel Exec where you can add your team, other attorneys, and your clients. By default, all items in your workspace are private to you.

You can share Projects and Playbooks with the entire workspace or specific users. That access can be Read Only or Full Access.

Sharing Projects and Playbooks

You can share in two main ways:

1. With "Everyone in the Workspace"
   • All members of the workspace will have access.
   • This is useful for standardized playbooks or team-wide projects that should be consistent across the group.
2. With Specific Individuals in the Workspace
   • Perfect for specific practice areas.
   • Made for sharing with external clients, including corporate legal teams or business partners.

Permissions: Read-Only vs. Edit Access

When you share Projects or Playbooks, you control how others interact with your projects and playbooks, either:

• Read-Only Access
  • Team members can view and use the project or playbook but cannot make changes.
• Edit Access
  • Team members can make changes to the project or playbook.
  • Team members can add others.
  • Ideal when collaborating on developing new playbooks or iterating on shared projects.
